The role she played was that of an unwed bride and married to a man of middle aged (the character Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka played Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the movie Badmash Company. The movie received mixed reviews. Anushka played a Punjabi girl of middle class in a movie known as 'Band baaja baaraat.' She starred alongside Ranveer. The film was an unexpected success with a lot of praise. In Band Baaja Baaraat, Anushka's three-film deal under the Yash Raj Films banner was final.
